Our Journey

Memories Etched in Stone began as a small idea within our family’s decorative tile business. We noticed a growing need for more personalized and creative designs, which inspired us to expand our capabilities. With the addition of lasers, CNC and sandcarving equipment, our artistic revolution was born. What started as an artistic venture into decorative tiles quickly evolved into a custom awards, clothing and a personalized gifts shop.

About ten years ago, everything changed when a client asked us to engrave a memorial on a sentimental natural stone. This heartfelt project opened our eyes to the profound impact our engraving workshop could have serving grieving families.

Since then, our mission has evolved into creating memorials and custom art that celebrates life, bringing healing and comfort. We still love making beautiful custom awards and gifts for special events of all kinds, yet what began as a budding tile art studio has now blossomed into a ministry. Our artists serve people and families that really matter during their best and most difficult times.

Our artistic roles as memorial craftsman are to make beautiful things by capturing the meaningful details of life in words and pictures.

We are unique among the other vendors we have heard of by not charging per letter or designs. We have just one price for a size and color of granite memorial, and any number of engraved words and artistic carvings are included. For some it is important to say more, quote bible verses or poems, add the motorcycle, the sports and the champagne glasses. There is never a charge for how much detail we put on a memorial, and never any re-design charges. We simply want every client to share what they are compelled to and not cut back or decide quickly because of money.

The Art of Memorials

Our memorial work is defined by a dedication to each person’s legacy through vibrant artistic expression. Whether we’re engraving wood, marble, granite or glass, we take pride in transforming natural materials into inspiring and meaningful memorials.

Each family has a style and each person we honor through art has a personality to be represented in the materials and methods we employ. For the cowboy at heart, we may draw riders and horses, and speak about eternity in terms of rodeos and the open range. For the musician we may fly music notes across a waving staff, add a full keyboard, or a singing guitar. For the dancer it’s tuxedos and tap shoes; for the team sports lover we play with footballs and mascots.

Our craft goes beyond technique and machinery, yet without modern Laser and CNC technology in our workshop, we would get a lot less done. We share decades of design, machining and material experiences in our team, so applying the best finish with the right tools is a constant collaboration among our artists. In the end, all our efforts are focused in the shop to finding and implementing the best plan for every memorial project.
